The layers of the eye
- The outer layer of the eye : The outermost part of the eye serves as its protective covering. The eyelids, conjunctiva, cornea, and tear film together form the ocular surface.
- The middle layer beneath the sclera 1, which includes structures that nourish the eye and control light entry.
- The innermost layer contains the retina, which processes light and sends visual information to the brain.
Understanding these basic structures provides a foundation for appreciating how our eyes work to deliver the sense of sight. Each part plays a unique role in capturing and processing light, allowing us to perceive the world in all its detail.
