Aware of the effects of the conservatives on the ocular surface, he launches the “preservative-free” revolution and develops numerous treatments without preservatives.
This date marks a turning point in the history of Théa and eye diseases, with the launch of the first preservative-free multidose bottle: ABAK®. This bottle is a high-security, high-technology dispenser which delivers up to 300 drops (for a 10 ml bottle) through a filter which prevents microbial contamination.
In 2008, Jean-Frédéric Chibret, Henri’s nephew, became President of Théa. Under his direction, Théa accelerates its international expansion starting with Europe and North Africa and eventually in the USA.
At the same time, its internal R&D intensified its work to keep on offering modern products, in order to meet increasingly diversified eye disorders.
30 years after its creation, Théa and its 2000 collaborators remain fully committed to eye health. The independent family company continues to manufacture 100% of its products in Europe* (60% in France) from which they are distributed to 75 countries worldwide.
