Red eyes

Red eyes are often a sign of irritation, infection, or allergies. The redness occurs when blood vessels in the surface of the eye expand. While it can be alarming, red eyes are usually treatable with rest, proper hygiene, or over-the-counter remedies. However, persistent redness should be evaluated by a healthcare professional.
